The hotel established in a gorgeous manor in the middle of the woods. The villa was built halfway through the 19th century (1847) by order of an entrepreneur from Ghent, Voortman. He bought over 200 hectares heathland and marshland in the area to make it productive and to cultivate. The house was the Voortmans family house. The man wanted to be a large landowner, because, at that time, it was important to own land to get some political influence. It was necessary to pay a decent amount of land taxes to be eligible for the Senate. After Mr. Voortman passed away, his son proceeded with his life’s work and kept on cultivating the area. When the family’s last male successor died in 1947, his daughter took over the manor. She sold the manor with the woods around it to the insurance company Mercator in 1979. They converted the old stables in to an annex with other rooms in 1992.

Nowadays the manor is used as an hotel with a wide range of meeting possibilities. Our extensive facilities are at your disposal to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
